For sale is this rare New Zealand Military Post Office, Fifth Reinforcements postmark on a postcard dated June 26th 1915. The postcard is approx 13.7cm x 9cm across. It is a nice example titled "A NGATIHUIA CHIEFTIAN (NGATIRAUKAWA). There is minor creasing and wear. The card has the following address "Mrs Wickens, Postmistress, Northland, Wellington, New Zealand." with the following hand writing; "6/2449 C Coy 5th/ At Sea/ On active Service, Having a very rough trip. Great number sea-sick but escaped it myself. The oranges were lovely & were greatly appreciated. Hope you got home dry. The rain spoilt our send off. Feeling fit but a bit tired of the sea now. Kind Regards to all, Ed Taylor."
